Name: NO Content Assay Kit
Determination method: Spectrophotometric method
Specification: 50 tubes/48 samples
Storage conditions: low temperature and light protection
Validity: 6 months
Note: Choose 2-3 samples with large expected differences for pre-calibration before formal measurement.
Measurement significance:
NO (Nitric Oxide, NO) is widely distributed in organisms in the nervous, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urogenital and other systems, especially in the nervous tissue is more abundant. It acts as an intercellular and intracellular information substance and plays the role of signal transmission. It is a new type of biological messenger molecule, which plays an important role in the physiological and pathological processes of the organism.
Principle of measurement:
NO is very easy to oxidise in the body or in aqueous solution to generate NO2-, under acidic conditions, NO2- and diazonium salt sulfonate amine generate diazo compounds, which further couples with naphthalene-based vinyl diamine, and the product has a characteristic absorption peak at 550 nm, and the absorbance value is measured, so that the NO content can be calculated.
Self-prepared laboratory supplies and equipment
Balance, mortar or homogeniser, visible spectrophotometer, 1mL glass cuvette, distilled water.
